Tarte Miracles From The Amazon Review

Tarte Miracles From The Amazon

tarte Miracles from the Amazon 6pc. Collection with Bag

This set is a QVC exclusive and is an amazing value at just $65.95 ($3 shipping)! I have to admit I’m not a QVC shopper and nievely thought that TV shopping was really old school, however with exclusive deals like this I’m a convert. Everything is full sized, even the foundation is full sized at .5 oz. I’m calculating the value to be $167, based off similar products, since these are all exclusive to QVC. That value is crazy!

What’s included:

  • 0.51-fl oz Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer
  • 0.27-fl oz LipSurgence Liquid Lip Shine in Exquisite, a berry mauve shade
  • 0.24-fl oz Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara in black
  • Amazonian Clay Eye and Cheek Palette with:
  • one 0.20-oz blush in Talented (peachy coral shade)
  • six 0.035-oz Amazonian Clay eye shadows (Pink Beyond, Taupe for the Best, Dreams Plum True, Out of This Pearl,  Thistle be the Day, and Paint the Brown)
  • Double-ended eye shadow brush
  • Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer brush
  • Makeup bag

Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer

I have to admit I hate the name, why Tarte why, but it is really good foundation with full coverage, while still being a lightweight product. It is true to the other foundation color names Tarte uses. I’m Tan in everything Tarte makes, which is fantastic for ordering new products that I haven’t swatched. Not every brand keeps their color names consistent, side eyeing you here Nars! The dropper applicator is interesting and I only needed 2 drops to cover my whole face, I even skipped concealer and felt good about it. This lasted on my extremely oily skin for a solid 9 hours, it claims 12, but I was pretty haggard at the 12 hour mark.

LipSurgence Liquid Lip Shine

I love Tarte’s lip products and this LipSurgence is no different. It has a perfect blend of staying power without being sticky and smells like vanilla frosting, yum! The color is a great everyday, your lips but better kind of shade. I think it would work really well with a dramatic eye shadow look. This lasted 5 hours, that included lunch and a drink. The color was mostly gone, but there was a little shine and moisture left after the meal.

Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara

I haven’t tried this yet, I have a mountain of mascaras to get through, but I did gift this to my Vegan sister in law and she likes it a lot. It’s really hard to find Vegan mascaras that preform well and she swears by this stuff.

Amazonian Clay Eye and Cheek Palette

I love this set up, it’s perfect for days when your short on time and just want everything to work. The 6 eye shadows play nicely off each other and the blush is a nice flush of color. I used 4 of the 6 eye shadows for my eye look today and felt like I could get quite a few everyday looks with the colors provided. The blush was soft, but visible and the formulation is long lasting and easy to blend. This palette would be a great all in one for travel, I would just grab a few colorful singles to round out a week long vacation.

Dual Ended Eye Shadow and Foundation Brushes

Holy kitten fur and clouds Batman, this foundation brush is by far the softest brush I own! It’s totally synthetic and the quality is top notch. I’ve over the moon in love! This thing is a powerhouse and could be used for foundation, powder, blush or conture and handle them all with ease. It’s hand made as well, in another line this brush could easily sell for $50+.

Now for the less great, although this should be prefaced with the fact that I tend to hate dual ended brushes…I found this brush to be good on both ends, it’s soft, workable and well made. I like to store my brushes upright in containers for easy access, so any 2 ended brush ends up with one side smashed. I chose the fluffy blending brush to keep and the the flat side will be unused from now on.

This is a repeating order item with QVC and they will send out another set in June and October for the same price, although the products will change slightly. Here are photos of the next two bags:

June

June TVS

I’m less excited about this one, they are including a Tarte Bronzing Serum and with my dark skin I won’t use it. The palette looks great and the eyeliner and eyeliner brush are a nice addition. I think I will have to cancel the auto renew for June, but wait…

October

 October TSV

This is more my speed, I love the Tarte Maracuja Oil. It works so well with my oily skin and is my Holy Grail eye cream. Well not a cream, but it works wonderfully to hydrate my under eye area and blends well with every concealer I use. I’ll be back for this one!

Birchbox February 2015

Birchbox has quickly become my favorite beauty box, edging out others because of the price and awesome rewards program. The fact that I can choose to pick a curated box , pick a sample, or choose to be surprised really makes it extra fun. Also, I’m totally kind of a control freak, so I love the options and knowing I will love at least one thing. I do find myself choosing the curated boxes more often then not.

This month was no different, I picked the Rent the Runway box. There were other pick your sample choices that I wanted too, but I was interested in trying everything in the curated box. It included:

The Balm Read My Lips Gloss in Bam

theBalm® cosmetics Read My Lips™ Lip Gloss - Bam - rose-pink

The fact I’ve never tried a lip gloss from The Balm and that I’m a gloss junkie made this super exciting. The full size is $15 and .3 oz, my sample is .08 oz and worth $4.

Fekkai Blowout Dry Shampoo

Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo – 1.7 fl. oz.

I’m always up for a product that makes my hair last an extra day. I was on second day hair when my box arrived, so I quickly busted this one out. It worked well on my dark hair and didn’t leave any white cast, it also smelled very fresh. Not sure it will replace my HG Batiste for brown hair, but I think it will give it a run for it’s money. I received a Full Sized Travel Size at 1.7 oz with a value of $10.

DermaE Anti-Wrinkle Exfoliating Cleanser

derma e® Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub - new

I’ve tried a scrub from this line before and it was great, so I really wanted to try this too. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I highly doubt you can get anti-wrinkle effects from a cleanser…you leave it on for less then a minute and wash it down the drain. That said, I am happy to try another product from DermaE. The full size is $12.75 for 4 oz, my sample is 1 oz and worth $3.18.

Not Soap, Radio Body Wash in The stuff that Cupid dips his arrow in (because sometimes fate needs a assists).

Not Soap, Radio Body Wash - cupid

This product has the longest, cutest name in the history of body wash. That mouthful didn’t draw me in (it’s is cute and all), but the Blackberry and Vanilla description sounded fantastic and it is! Yummo! I just want to keep sniffing myself…but that’s just weird. The full size is $16 for 13.61 oz, my sample is 1.5 oz and worth $2.64.

Sumita Eyeliner in Raina

Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner Exclusive Set

I’ve received these a few times from other subscriptions and while they won’t replace my favorite eyeliners, they are good enough quality for me to gift them to friends or family. This was sent out in multiple colors, but I received a basic black. I know sometimes boxes get a lot of hate about basic black liners, black is such a staple in peoples routine that it’s understandable.  The full size is $11 and .06 oz, my sample is .024oz and worth $4.40.

*update: After closer inspection I received Raina, which is a dark navy blue.

The last thing in my box was a coupon for Rent the Runway, $30 off order of $75.  Rent the Runway is an online service that provides designer dress and accessory rentals. The dress prices run from $40 to $800 and accessories run $5 to $400. I doubt I’ll ever use this, I prefer to try things on and shop at a discount, so $45 to use something once doesn’t appeal to me. If you’d like the code just comment below, first one who does gets it.

Over all this was a winner and I’m happy with every single sample!! Couple that with the 50 points I will get for the Birchbox store and this is why I love me some Birchbox.  My box is valued at $24.22 without any value placed on the coupon, along with that the 50 points = $5 in the Birchbox store. The real value is I will use everything in this box, yay!
